Creative Facilitation Training is a one-day professional development opportunity ideal for artists, arts facilitators, arts, culture and community workers looking to develop their creative facilitation skills, particularly as it refers to working with young groups and groups of refugees and newcomers.

This event is part of the activities presented during HAPPENING Multicultural Festival 2019.

During the one-day intensive workshop, participants will learn how to:

— Create safe and welcoming spaces for participants
— Build trust between the facilitator and the participants
— Allow and prompt creativity of participants
— Build confidence as a creative facilitator

Objectives:

Provide facilitation methods that are easily interpretable for non-English speaking clients

Provide communication and motivational skills for CSS caseworkers

Provide caseworkers with activities that can be used to help GAR clients feel motivatedto connect in their new home

The workshop’s curriculum is based on the Creative Community Model developed by Partners for Youth Empowerment (PYE) Global.

PYE Global has partner with Muse Arts to provide a customized program that addresses the unique needs of the artists, facilitators and arts and culture workers engaging with community participants, particularly newcomers and refugees. This specialized curriculum empowers individuals through the arts and engages participants to create a transformative and collaborative learning space that is inclusive to all backgrounds.

Creative Facilitation Training is offered at a rate of $100 , which includes:

— Registration for one day training
— Light refreshments (please bring a lunch, or you can purchase lunch at a nearby business during the lunch break)
— A printed workbook detailing all aspects discussed during the program, for future reference

— Certificate of completion
