Our Creative Coping Skills workshop is a 3 hour art and activity based experience for kids ages 8-11 years.

What Will Participants Learn?
What anxiety looks and feels like
Strategies to calm themselves when they are anxious
How to use creativity to express feelings and manage anxiety
We will explore different coping strategies designed to help children manage anxiety. Participants will create their own coping skill resources using art materials, imagination, and understanding! We will practice using each coping skill and resource through various engaging activities. Each participant will leave with their own Coping Skill Kit.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The Centre for Social Innovation is located at 720 Bathurst Street in Toronto. Please note that the Centre for Social Innovation has 3 locations. Our workshop is being held at the Annex location on Bathurst street, just south of Bloor Street. There is easy access to public transit. Our location is just a few blocks south of the Bathurst subway station, and there is access to the street car or bus. Similarly, there is street parking for those who will drive.
Where do we go when we arrive?
When you arrive, please come into the Centre for Social Innovation and come up to the Third Floor. There is a stairwell at the north door and an elevator. Once you make your way to the third floor, our workshop will be located in Meeting Room #4. There will be a sign on the door indicating the room number.
Do I stay with my child during the workshop?
Parents/caregivers will drop off their children with facilitators in the event room, and will pick them up at the end of the workshop.
Is there a cost to attend this workshop?
Yes, there is a $80 fee to attend the workshop. The fee covers the cost of materials, which are all included within the workshop. Coping skills kits will include all art projects made by your child, along with some additional coping skill materials/activities with instructions for parents and kids to use together!
Is a snack provided?
A healthy snack will be provided half way through the workshop. Snacks will be nut and dairy free, and if children have any additional allergies, we ask that parents let Sara (416 986 3622 or email@example.com) know prior to the event.
