About this Event

Join the Human Impacts Institute for our 10th annual Creative Climate Awards launch party! It will be an evening of immersive, virtual experiences, including live performances, mingling with participating artists, and networking with climate experts from around the world.

The 2020 CCAs run from November 15th to December 15th and you won't want to miss this kick-off event full of inspiring and innovative ways to address climate change from our very own NYC-based artists.

The 2020 Creative Climate Awards will focus entirely on New York City artists. While previous CCA series were formatted as international open calls, this year’s program will be a collaboration with five New York City cultural organizations from all boroughs of the City: MoCADA, Bronx Council on the Arts, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Materials for the Arts, and Chinatown Art Brigade. Each institution has selected three New York City-based artists who have existing work connected to environmental issues such as health, community resilience, and racial justice. By working in collaboration with cultural organizations across the city, CCA will showcase how New York can be an example of a diverse city pulling together and making connections at the intersectionality of creativity and climate to raise awareness and inspire change.

The Human Impacts Institute’s Creative Climate Awards are an annual series of events that showcase artists creating climate-inspired, public works. In an effort to inspire us to think more critically about our actions and their impacts, the Creative Climate Awards program uses the arts and creativity to share knowledge, broaden the climate conversation, educate, and incite action.
