Earth is not only our home, it is also the garden that God entrusts to humanity's care.
For decades now, our home has been under siege. Rainforests are being bulldozed at alarming rates for industrial cattle farming, farms are seeing unprecedented topsoil erosion and dead sea animals are washing up on shores with stomachs full of straws and other plastic. Meanwhile, thousands of species are going extinct every year. Earth is reeling at our human posture of creation consumption, while our calling remains bent toward creation care.

As Christians called to care for God’s creation, how can Nazarenes respond to human consumption?
How can we heed this call to stewardship and holy living?
What does a faithful response look like in 2019 when so much damage has already been done?
How does loving God and neighbor require a refocus on caring for creation now?

These are questions we will address at the Creation Care Summit in Flint, Michigan.

Nazarene pastors, farmers, theologians, scientists and students will hear the story of Flint's water crisis. We will collaborate on ways our churches can better steward environmental resources and discuss sustainable farming practices, ethical food consumption, and waste reduction. We will also write a resolution on Creation Care for presentation at the 2021 General Assembly and spend time getting our hands dirty loving the earth.
