Event description

Description

Our roadside verges are sanctuaries for wildflowers, pollinating insects, reptiles, amphibians and small mammals. This event with Tom Whitlock, Ecologist at Devon County Council, is designed to provide all of the information needed for communities to manage verges for wildlife. Gill McEvoy, a life-long amateur naturalist, based in Yealmpton will also provide insight into planting wildflowers which provide colour and a food source for pollinators.

This is a Wildlife Community of the Year 2020 event for people living in Brixton, Holbeton, Newton Ferrers, Noss Mayo, Wembury and Yealmpton.

Did you know that since the 1930’s, 97% of the UK’s wildflower meadows have been lost or modified.
