2016-17 Nonprofit Management Workshop Series: Multi-year Budgeting


Location: 110 William Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10038


Description:

This will allow grantees to take a longer-range perspective on neighborhood needs and strategies for addressing those needs. This workshop will help participants develop a three-year plan and related budget for Avenue NYC. Total course hours: 1 session, half day (10:00am - 1:00pm).

Participants will learn to:

  • Think strategically about their goals from a multi-year perspective and develop a multi-year approach to achieving those goals
  • Develop a multi-year expense budget that reflects the cost of implementing the desired approach
  • Incorporate revenue development strategies into the budget
  • Budget for non-financial resources -- time and in-kind contributions -- that support achievement of the plan
  • Create a budget narrative that can be used when monitoring progress against the plan and budget over time
These workshops are ideal for leaders and professionals at:
  • Business Improvement Districts
  • Local Development Corporations
  • Chambers of Commerce
  • Merchants Association
  • Other Community-based Development Organizations
