Thanks to computers we now have a whole new frontier of digital mediums to play with, including Twine. Twine is a tool that gives you the power to create your own interactive stories; akin to the ‘choose your own adventure books’. Twine games are beginning to be recognised as valuable contributions to the indie games scene, and most recently a selection of Twine games have made it through to the IndieCade Red Carpet Awards. Twine is shaping up to be a powerful force to promote meaningful stories authored by a diverse set of people to a games industry, which has previously been dominated by middle-aged men making games about shooting things with guns.

This workshop will introduce you to Twine and help you to establish a familiarity with the tool. You will leave this workshop confident that you can  begin to explore creativity in a digital medium by writing Twine stories. You will know where to find further resources and support for your journey with Twine.

Preparation Required:

Come with an idea for the story you would like to illustrate. You can download and install Twine from http://www.gimcrackd.com/etc/src/  onto your laptop and check that it works. Feel free to play with it ahead of the workshop, however, this is not essential, we can help you with the install if you are unsure.

Booking Required:

Yes

Any other information:
