Event description
A practical workshop exploring what we really want from our relationships and how to make them healthy and nourishing.

About this Event

A new workshop based on creative relationship coaching.

We are all in relationships all of the time. How do we make them healthy and nourishing based on our needs and values in a honest way?

Using experience and practical tools from monogamy, non-monogamy, relationship anarchy, non-violent communication, consent, boundaries and more, this workshop will challenge societal beliefs and provide alternative ways of relating.

There is no one-size fits all way of relating.

I definitely wont be telling you the types of relationships you should be having. It is about digging in to what is natural for you and finding ways to communicate that.

This workshop is about sharing experiences of relationships and busting some of the myths we have around them. We don't have to follow a script. Often I see people conform to a way of relating that becomes too much to go along with in the older years. The container breaks and suddenly the urge to live the life they want becomes more urgent.

In this clothes on session we will:

  • Explore what relationships means to us and why we are in connection
  • Introduce the 'relationship escalator' and how that impacts us
  • Acknowledge if we have a hierarchy when it comes to different relationships
  • Review the 'Relationship Anarchy Smorgasbord' to identify what aspects of relating are important to us
  • Discover our needs when it comes to relationships
  • Identify the various strategies we use to get our needs met
  • Recognise the difference between a 'rule' and an 'agreement'
  • Create relationship agreements for yourself

What can you expect?

  • Sessions are limited to 12 people and are conversational and interactive
  • We all keep our clothes on and there is no requirement to touch anyone else
  • We create a confidential, neutral space for you to ask questions and share experiences
  • We will have both cushions and chairs available to sit on during the event. The invitation is to get comfy
  • An opportunity to get to know other adventurers and share stories.

Who is this for?

  • Anyone who wants to explore different relating styles
  • People struggling with naming or voicing their needs
  • Anyone who want to explore what is natural rather than expected from relationships

Sensitivity

Acknowledging that this is, for some, a daunting and new experience, and I want to encourage people to engage as freely as they can. We will be creating a neutral, relaxed and confidential space. Sue will be available to talk on a one to one basis after the event.

Testimonials from previous events

"Such an interesting and informative evening. At first I thought it might have been better to have a women only session but actually it was really interesting to hear the opinions of the men that were present. I definitely learnt a lot and feel more confident in understanding why I like what I do and how to talk to my partners about it." - Tanya

"The sex education you wish you’d had sooner. This workshop should be mandatory for everyone who has a vulva, or wants to have sex with a person who has a vulva. Sue is one of those sensational people who puts everyone at ease and ensures all participants feel safe asking those questions they’ve been too scared to discuss with their best friends. You will leave this session with an intimate knowledge of the anatomy of the vulva, amazing clarity of consent, and a conviction of how to ask for what you want without settling for anything less. But most importantly you will have fun and share laughter and tears and frustrations and fears with your fellow participants. Life’s too short not to know this stuff so learn it as soon as you can. " - Helen G
