Denise Headshot

Denise Plaskett has been researching and documenting her family tree since joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1982. For many years she has been a serious user of FamilySearch and in February 2018 she and her husband Gary became a part of the volunteer staff at the Oakland FamilySearch Library. At the library she has taught a 5-part series on how to use FamilySearch and she enjoys helping patrons navigate the system, add stories and photos, search and attach historical records, and break down their brick walls!

Debie HeadshotDebbie Perrone was introduced to the field of genealogy in 2013 when she became assistant director for the Family History Center in Kalispell, Montana where she resides. Currently she and her husband, Steve, are serving an 18-month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint in the Oakland FamilySearch Library. In this capacity, Debbie has served as the principal instructor for FamilySearch classes for over a year.  More importantly, she also has been instrumental in getting the Bay Area Chinese Genealogy Group to meet in the Oakland FamilySearch Library including teaching members of this group how to use FamilySearch resources. Debbie enjoys helping patrons one-on-one to discover, gather, and connect with their families as well as collaborating with the genealogy research community.
