Event description
Join us for the Creating Virtual Human Rights Lawyer Conference and a panel discussion on using tech for human rights.

About this Event

Join Public International Law & Policy Group - Netherlands Office for the Creating A Virtual Human Rights Lawyer Conference and a panel discussion on using tech for human rights from 13:30 on September 27.

The Virtual Human Rights Lawyer is a joint project of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the Netherlands Office of the Public International Law & Policy Group to help victims of serious human rights violations obtain access to justice at the international level. It enables users to find out how and where they can access existing global and regional human rights mechanisms in order to obtain some form of redress for the human rights violations they face or have faced.

Thanks to the Knowledge Platform Security & Rule of Law, PILPG and VU Amsterdam have jointly developed a prototype for the Virtual Human Rights Lawyer project and tested it in the field at the Legal Assistance Centre Namibia.

To mark the end of the project, we are organising a conference to present the prototype and reflect on the uses of technology for human rights. There will be a roundtable panel discussion on “Enhancing Human Rights Redress through Chatbot Technology: Opportunities and Challenges” with voices from law, technology and psychology.

Entry is free, but space is limited. Please register in advance by obtaining a free ticket here.
