Event description

Description

This interactive workshop focuses on the effects of campus climate and student success, particularly for underrepresented student populations. Workshop attendees will be exposed to national research on campus climate and will leave with a plan to create a more supportive climate within and outside their classes.

This hands on workshop is presented by Dr. Lucy Arellano. Dr. Arellano is an Assistant Professor in Adult Education and Higher Education Leadership at Oregon State University. Her research focuses on persistence, retention, and degree completion for emerging majority students. Concepts of diversity, campus climates, campus engagement, and student co-curricular involvement ground her work. Furthermore, she examines campus environments and how institutional agency influences student success.
