Creating a Happy Place: an online meditation course
Event Information
About this Event
Do you miss the feeling of being in a meditation space? You can easily and inexpensively create a sacred space for home practice! Shrines are not only found in Buddhist temples, but also in the homes of practitioners who arrange shrines in a traditional manner as part of their meditation practice.
In this course you will receive step-by-step instructions on how to set up a traditional Buddhist shrine. You'll learn the meaning of shrine objects, and how, by bringing them into our space with sincerity, we can cultivate a mind that is calm, clear, and positive. You will also receive guidance and resources on where to find qualified shrine items, how to make offerings, and how to "kid proof" and "pet proof" your shrine so everyone at home is welcome in your meditation space.
The course will conclude with a short guided meditation. Led by meditation teacher, Eve Miller. No experience is necessary, everyone is welcome.
