SYNOPSIS:

Tommy Reilly, a cocky, up-and-coming attorney, is forced to take on a pro bono case for Allie Batista, who’s a devoted Catholic that feels she has a calling to become a priest. Because church law forbids women from entering the seminary, Tommy decides to sue the Archdiocese of New Orleans for sex discrimination without justifiable cause.

Tommy and his legal team filed a summons with the hopes they can scare the church into settling despite the fact that Allie is not interested in settling. The church’s representative Monsignor Renzulli and Cardinal Bishop Jorge Sierra file a motion to dismiss, as they don’t want the church involved in any controversy.

Soon enough, the case starts to make headlines and both Tommy and Allie face serious backlash from the people in their lives. Furthermore, an extremist attacks Allie and threatens to kill her if they don’t back off. Tommy relocates her to a safe house. In court, Judge Watford suggests to Tommy that he should meet with Renzulli to find another solution to resolve the case. After meeting, privately with Renzulli, Tommy doesn’t yield. Tommy and Allie are ready for a fierce battle.
