60th Anniversary of TLH Lunch Counter Sit-ins: But are we sitting together now?

On February 13th, 1960, the Tallahassee Democrat read “The lunch counter in Woolworth’s was closed at noon yesterday when a group of Negroes sat down and asked to be served.” To observe the anniversary of this landmark community event, Leon County Government and The Village Square together present the 5th annual Created Equal event. We'll gather legends from our hometown's civil rights movement, their families and important figures today to talk about the legacy of these heroes and pose the question "are we sitting together now?"

Pizza, salad and drinks will be provided.
