Meet Your Guest Instructor:

Marina Williams!

Marina Williams is a creative portrait photographer, educator, and content creator based in Florida. Known for her bold use of color, playful styling, and movement-driven compositions, Marina’s work transforms everyday moments into visual storytelling.

Whether she’s capturing a solo self-portrait in her home studio or directing a full-scale concept shoot on location, Marina’s goal is always the same: to create compelling images that feel like a world of their own.

After studying Photography at Florida State University, Marina moved to Salt Lake City, Utah initially to work in house as the photographer for a kids clothing brand, later taking her own business full time.

During the pandemic in 2020, Marina turned to TikTok to share her at-home self portrait process when all her client work was cancelled. Using only items found in her apartment for props and lighting, Marina was able to reach a community of beginner photographers curious on how to do the same.

Her approachable, narrative driven content on social media offers an honest look behind the scenes – from messy studio days to colorful shoot setups – inspiring fellow creatives to experiment, trust their vision, and embrace imperfection in the process.

Marina has since partnered with leading global brands like Canon, Adobe, American Eagle, and Coca Cola to create scroll-stopping photography and social content that inspires and educates. Her weekly Patreon videos and annual workshop, Colorpop, offer both online and in-person educational opportunities for creatives of all skill levels eager to level up their work and connect with a larger community.

Marina’s goal is to help others tap into their creativity, trust their curiosity, and learn the skills to empower their entrepreneurship; turning their love of photography into a supportive career. By sharing her process, she hopes to remind others that you don’t need to know everything, you just need to be brave enough to start.
