Create "Veterans Day" Care Packages for Veterans

Description
Create "VeteransDay" care packages for veterans. Donating care packages is a wonderful way to show we care for our hospitalized veterans. Each care package is prayed over and includes Christian and patriotic items. This outreach event is repeated every 3 months so its an on going outreach you can join. Call me for questions about donations and how many are still needed, etc. On Nov 4, the care packages are being delivered to veterans at the Long Beach VA Hospital.
Donations are needed for 80 veterans. No Food or Candy.
- Thank you cards or notes of gratitude addressed "Dear Veteran"
- 2.5 gallon zip lock storage bags
- Large white socks
- Small patriotic items
- Playing cards
- Christian reading
- Small entertaining items
- Crossword & Puzzle Books (99 cent store)
We will meet it the Refinery at 12:30 in the private room downstairs by the cafe. The thank you notes/cards for veterans are an important part of the care package. It's a great project to do as a small group, family, or for student classrooms to do in honor of Veterans Day. Veterans always enjoy recieving cards made by children! Bring donations and a heart for veterans! Military service is not required to be a volunteer.
