What is a trinket dish and how many will each participant make?

A trinket dish is a small, decorative dish used to hold and organize small, everyday items like jewelry, coins, keys, & other tiny treasures. AKA a catchall tray, it provides a convenient spot for these items to prevent them from getting lost & helps keep surfaces tidy. We aim to make 2 each person.

Do I need any creative experience?

Not at all!  You'll be guided with hands-on step-by-step instructions and have one-on-one time with Allison.

Who is teaching the class?

Accepted Answer

Mom, visual artist and educator Allison Lash is guiding. Allison is a former NYC public school art teacher and works with Austin ISD as an approved Fine Arts Service Provider serving children in schools throughout the district and leads community arts. Question 4

Why are there no refunds? (We can reschedule due to illness).

Awesome Art! is a super small, local arts business run by one woman who does it all (& is trying to avoid burnout). It's difficult to handle refunds, however, we can talk about rescheduling to a future date in case of illness. Thank you for understanding and supporting small, local arts businesses.

Question 5

Will we be using sustainable materials?

Accepted Answer

Awesome Art! has been purchasing supplies and tools from Austin Creative Reuse and at thrift stores for many years, because resources are limited.  Materials at Austin Creative Reuse are donated and often unique.  By using these re-used materials we stop the cycle of buying new.

Since at a church, is this a religious workshop?

Not at all!  Awesome Art! is non-denominational and not affiliated with any religion or church.

Will the Art House have additional workshops in the future?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  This is our new studio space and our current workshops are part of our soft opening.  We're excited to plan new workshops to share with you soon.
