Event description

Description

As a therapist in training you are required to videotape therapy sessions with your clients for later review with your supervisor. However, your therapy training program has not taught you how to systematically make use of videotaping to further develop your psychodiagnostic and intervention skills. In this workshop you will learn a model of self-supervision that can help you approach the review of your videotapes with a greater sense of purpose and agency in your own learning.

Learning how to effective use videotaping in your self-supervision will help you:

  1. Increase your accuracy in psychodiagnosis and clarity of therapy goals.
  2. Increase your ability to identify client's readiness for change and potential obstacles for progress in therapy
  3. Incrase your awareness about your clinical skills repertoir and increase your ability to intervene with greater intention.
  4. Increase your ability to identify interventions that are helping your clients moment-by-moment.
  5. Increase your abiiltiy to identify interventions that are likley to produce negative effects, leading to early termination and stagnation of the therapy process.
