Event description

Description

You may have heard that Centerra registered with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) as the FIRST Wildlife Habitat Community in Colorado. But, did you know that we need your help to become certified? Whether you rent or own, have an apartment balcony or a big backyard, you can create a garden that attracts beautiful wildlife and helps restore habitat in commercial and residential areas. By providing food, water, cover and a place for wildlife to raise their young, you not only help wildlife, but you also qualify to become an official Certified Wildlife Habitat®.

Centerra is working hard towards certification on our end through education, events and community outreach but in order to get certified, Centerra needs to register at least 50 homes as a wildlife habitat.

If you come to the presentation on Tuesday, March 20th at 6:00 pm by Brian Kurzel, Regional Executive Director of the NWF’s Rocky Mountain Regional Center, High Plains Environmental Center will pay HALF of your certification fee! Your $10 (plus fees) gets you and anyone else in your household a seat at Brian’s presentation AND it covers your certification fee!

For more information, please go to http://www.nwf.org/How-to-Help/Garden-for-Wildlife.aspx. Please contact High Plains Environmental Center at 970-622-9676 or email Kelley@suburbitat.com if you have any questions.

Presenter: Brian Kurzel, Regional Executive Director of the National Wildlife Federation’s Rocky Mountain Regional Center. Brian oversees the National Wildlife Federation’s work on protecting public lands, sustaining fish and wildlife populations, promoting responsible energy development, connecting people to nature and partnering with tribal governments on education and conservation.

When: Tuesday, March 20th

Time: 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Where: High Plains Environmental Center, 2698 Bluestem Willow Drive, Loveland, CO 80538

How certification works: Sign-up online and pay the $10 (plus fees). If you meet all of the criteria you can fill out an application either before or after the presentation. We’ll take care of the rest!
