Event description

Description

Boise GreenBike is proud to sponsor Cranksgiving Boise 2017!

Cranksgiving is a fun scavenger hunt/alley cat race for a charitable cause. Participants form teams of three or four to ride Boise GreenBikes as they complete a list of tasks that includes gathering all the items necessary to fill a Thanksgiving food box, which is then donated to St. Vincent de Paul for distribution to families throughout the Treasure Valley. At the end we gather for drinks and snacks at Clairvoyant Brewing.

It is our goal to try and rent all of the 127 bikes in the Boise GreenBike fleet for this event. Participants will be given free credit in the GreenBike system. This is a free event, but registration is required. More details can be found on the Boise GreenBike Facebook page.

Registration runs from 8:00 - 9:45 a.m. with the event starting promptly at 10:00 a.m. The post-event party will take place at Clairvoyant Brewing, 2800 W Idaho Street, Boise.

FAQs

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Contact Dave Fotsch - dfotsch@valleyregionaltransit.org or call 208-331-9266

Is my registration ticket transferrable?

Yes, you can hand your ticket off to someone else.

Do we have to ride Boise GreenBikes?

Yes, in order to make it fair to everyone we require you to ride a Boise GreenBike.

Will we have to pay to rent a Boise GreenBike?

No, we will provide every person registering for the event with a $20 credit in the system. That's 4 hours of free ride time at the Pay As You Go rate. Anything beyond 4 hours will be your responsibility.

How many people to a team?

Ideally we would like teams of four, but we can make exceptions if necessary.

What if the weather is bad?

The event will go on rain, snow or shine. Thanksgiving doesn't stop because of weather, so neither does Cranksgiving. There are people counting on us to provide Thanksgiving dinners!

What happens to the food we collect?

The food collected is donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Thanksgiving Dinner Box program for distribution to families throughout the Treasure Valley.

Are there prizes?

Heck yeah! We will award prizes to the first three teams, the dead last team and the team with the best costumes. Be fast, slow or creative, or any of the above. We will also have a raffle for additional prizes and the proceeds are donated to St. Vincent de Paul.
