Description

Course Objectives

Craniosacral Therapy deals with the osseous structures (primarily the cranial vault & sacrum), membranes (Dura & Meninges), & fluid (cerebrospinal fluid) that support the brain, spinal cord, & spinal nerve roots as well as the bones of the hard palate, face, & surrounding soft tissues. Adhesions anywhere in this system can result in mild to severe dysfunction including headaches, chronic pain, & other neurological impairments. This course is designed to instruct students to go beyond the basic techniques used to locate & address adhesions of the CSS proper & to apply these techniques to the bones & membranes of the Hard Palate & Facial Bones.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand, name, and define the components of the Hard Palate & Facial Bone structures.

  • Successfully palpate the Craniosacral Rhythm on the Hard Palate & Facial Bones.

  • Understand the mechanism of motion for the Hard Palate & Facial Bones.

  • Understand the principles behind sutural release techniques & be able to successfully apply sutural release techniques throughout the Hard Palate & Facial Bones.

  • Understand how to evaluate the effects of your treatment using palpation of the Craniosacral Rhythm.

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform an ‘11 Steps to Heaven’ Protocol for the CSS.

  • Understand & demonstrate the ability to perform the Hard Palate Protocol.

The goal of CST is to mobilize the components of the CSS & leave everything decompressed, creating a spacious & relaxed environment for the CNS. Always spend the majority of your time on the de-compressive phase of any technique. Always leave the client in a decompressed state. This is far more important than getting through a complete protocol in any given session. If you are not sure that you will have the time to make sure they are left in a decompressed state, DO NOT start that technique.

Teaching Objectives

  • Understand, name, and define the components of the Hard Palate & Facial Bone structures.

  • Successfully palpate the Craniosacral Rhythm of the Hard Palate & Facial Bones.

  • Understand the mechanism of motion for the Hard Palate & Facial Bones.

  • Understand the principles behind sutural release techniques & be able to successfully apply sutural release techniques throughout the Hard Palate & Facial Bones.
