Description

This will be a jam-packed inspiring weekend of adventure and camping!

Includes:

Transfers from Hobart/Launceston Airport and/or Launceston

2 nights camping at Cradle Mountain - Camping on private property - Composting toilets and hot showers. Bring all own camping equipment.

DAY 1 - Friday 6 April

Pick up from Hobart, 5:30 pm. Launceston Airport 7:30 pm. Short stop at Launceston 8pm for a quick dinner.

Set up at Cradle Mountain for camping.

DAY 2 - Saturday 7 April

Canyoning Dove Canyon - 9:30 am from 6-8 hours.

Wilderness + adrenalin + adventure = the Dove Canyon. The Dove Canyon showcases wild Tasmania at its best. This trip involves a thrilling combination of jumps, slides and abseils buried in a 50 metre deep quartzite canyon. Definitely one to write home about.This option is for the adventurous and intrepid. You do not need any previous canyoning or abseiling experience, but we recommend customers are physically fit, MUST be able to swim and have a great sense of adventure.The minimum age for participants on this tour is 15. We also provide a tasty lunch on this tour.

Cradle Mountain Film Festival Saturday night from 4pm - VIP "extras" ticket - forest yurt lounges for a screening, nibbles and drinks. Exclusive screening of Mountainfilm on Tour (8-10PM). All the way from Telluride, Colorado, we feature the best of Mountainfilm as the sun sets on Cradle Mountain. Bring your festival cheer, down jacket and an appetite for good eats and drinks to this evening of adventure.

DAY 3 - Sunday 8 April

Sunday Morning - Mountain Huts Film Trail which is a loop around five huts at Cradle, to watch short films in each of the huts. (Around 3.5 hours). 9am -1pm

Late lunch stop Launceston. Drop off from Launceston Airport by 3pm. Back at Hobart by 5pm Sunday 8th

LADIES TO BRING

Good quality hiking shoes, backpack, waterbottle or Camelbak, torch, sleeping bag, tent and matress, cup, bowl and utensils. Warm clothes.Towel.

Own medications Hat, Sunscreen and Sun protection Camera Waterpoof Raincoat (Gortex ideal) Warm/Thermal Layer and Beanie/Gloves Insect repellent

Bookings strictly close 14 days prior to departure.

Please also bring breakfast provisions Day 2 & 3.

Extra cash for Dinner Day 1 & 3. Lunch Day 3.


CANCELLATION POLICY

If you cancel your adventure booking prior to the scheduled departure, you may be eligible to the following refund based on the price of the trip.

>30 days prior to your departure date, you will be refunded any amounts paid, less a 20% admin fee.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE ADEQUATE TRAVEL INSURANCE TO COVER FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS, LOST PROPERTY, MEDICAL EVACUATION, PERSONAL LIABILITY, ETC

FITNESS REQUIREMENTS

Good fitness is required for Canyoning Day 2.

Anything is possible.. Be prepared.

TOILETS

There will be compostable toilets at campground.

This is a women's only event however please note that guides will be supporting our trip.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Yes. You must be over the age of 18 years to attend this trip.

What do I need to wear in the kayak?
Warm tights are a good idea and an exercise top/thermals. We suggest you also wear a warm jacket but be prepared to take this off as you will warm up kayaking.
What if it's raining?
Trips still go ahead in all types of weather unless it’s heavy rain or very gusty winds. We encourage you to bring your own water proof jacket. Wetsuits and jackets will be provided for canyoning.
What's the cancellation policy?
We hope you do not need to cancel your trip, however if cancellation takes place more than 60 days prior to your departure date, you will be refunded any amounts paid, less a 20% admin fee. If cancellation takes place between 60 and 30 days prior to your departure date, 50% of the tour price will be forfeited. If cancellation takes place less than 30 days prior to your departure date, 100% of the tour price will be forfeited. Transfers from one person to another will not be permitted.
In the unlikely event of adverse weather conditions, Wild Island Women reserves the right to change, alter or cancel this trip in the interests of client safety. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours will happily refund monies paid in the event that Extreme Wind or Dangerous Conditions be present at or before the commencement of the and credit you for another day. We will notify you by text at between 6am - 6.30am on the morning of the activity in the event of cancellation. Please ensure mobile phones are on and accessible at this time to ensure messages are received.
Depending on abilities and weather we reserve the right to change itinerary.
