Event description

Description

The Paderewski Festival invites you to join us at a Benefit Concert on Saturday, March 21, 2020. The concert will feature world famous Cracow Duo-cellist Jan Kalinowski and pianist Marek Szlezer. Taking place at the stunning private hilltop residence of Marilyn and Ken Riding, the afternoon begins with a wine and cheese reception and self-guided art tour. Promptly at 3 pm, the concert begins followed by a live auction. Proceeds from the concert benefit the Paderewski Festival.

Described by the Strad Magazine as having "an arresting quality to their playing that gives life to music," the Cracow Duo toured throughout Europe, Asis, North and South America.

For their appearane in Paso Robles, the Cracow Duo has selected a very attractive program that includes such war-horses as Chopin's youthful and vigorous Introduction and Polonaise brillante for cello and piano as well as charming salon pieces by Ignacy Jan Paderewski and his friend, Zygmunt Stojowski - who used to visit Paderewski in Paso during the 1920s and 1930s. The Crawcow Duo fundraising concert will also present works by Aleksander Tansman and Astor Poazzolla, bringing a mid-twentieth century Polish-French accent and a dash of Argentinian tango flair to their well-rounded selections.
