Event Details

This Fall Equinox, take time to reflect outside of your daily routine.

Stone House Farms has yurts and tents that city dwellers can rent for the weekend, and expansive fields that people with all their camping equipment can use for this retreat.  At the fall chapter of the Cracking the Spine series, we will be having yoga and meditation in the pavilion by the pond every morning and each evening. Writing classes follow each movement class, because the mind is always clearest after yoga.

Cracking the Spine Part Two will focus on journaling, memoir/anti-memoir and fairy tales. We will examine what brings us to the page and how we can come back after ghosting on our journals. We will break into the difference between a journal and a memoir as well as opening the door to anti-memoir.

On our last day we will explore some symbols in fairy tales and rewrite one of our memories as though our lives were a fairy tales. Give yourself permission to be playful, casting yourself as hero, villain, town crier or any other character you like. As one would hope in space like this, there is free time to write, hike, take a guided foraging class or sign up for massage.

All yoga and writing classes are appropriate for beginners as well as people who put pen to paper and souls to mat every day.

*Meals included with the purchase of admission to the event.

This weekend we will:

-Gaze at the stars

-Take Yoga classes

-Explore Nature

-Put our experience into writing

-Share what we’ve written

-Skill share
