Please join us for the next Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) Roundtable on:

Implementing Preterm Birth Prevention Interventions for CPSP Providers

Presented by: March of Dimes Staff -- Marta Bills, MPH & Maura Georges, MPH, MSW

BACKGROUND

Premature birth occurs in 8.7% of all births in California, although the rate for African American babies is much higher at 11.8%. This training will review the impact of prematurity on mothers and babies and will provide information on three clinical interventions to reduce risk of preterm birth. Attendees will receive practical suggestions for improving systems to support the interventions as well as ready-to-use patient education teaching points. Best practice sharing from participating clinics will be encouraged.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain risk factors for preterm birth and the importance of reducing patients’ risks

  • Describe three interventions to reduce risk for preterm birth

  • Identify quality improvement opportunities to decrease preterm birth risk in their patients

  • Educate patients using recommended teaching points for three interventions

Pending Approval for 1.5 CEUS for RNs.
