CPI - The Initial Nonviolent Crisis
The Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training program is a safe, non-harmful, systematic behavior management approach designed to help support staff and teachers provide for the best possible care, welfare, safety and security of defensive, disruptive or potentially out-of-control students even during their most violent moments thereby following Colorado’s Protection of Persons from Restraint Act, C.R.S. §§ 26-20-101.
Class location is at the Haxtun Community Center. Please bring a lunch or plan to go out to buy something. Please wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes or other similar comfortable shoes (NO sandals) that allow for stretching and exercises. Classes will be cancelled if less than 6 register.
The Initial Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Training is necessary for those who have never taken the class or have not maintained their annual certification. The Initial full 8-9 hour class is also required every other year in the continuous training cycle.
