Event description

Description

The breakup of Greater India in 1947 left the "shangri-la" area of Jammu & Kashmir unresolved. It was contested between Muslims and Hindus, Pakistan and India -- and was used by al Qaeda to stir up flames of discontent and foster Muslim anger, prompting thousands to flee their homeland. Yet this state in northern India still remains an enchanting and magnificent part of the lower Himalayas.

Join us for a captivating and enlightening photo presentation with geographer, writer, and photographer Cristine Milton who taught Human/Cultural Geography at CU-Boulder, and for decades, has loved sharing her passion for people and places. Hosted by RE/MAX of Boulder Realtor Kimberly Fels, this presentation will offer fascinating cultural and historical insights into this splendid region through a marvelous journey documented by photos.

FREE event, open to the public! No RSVP or tickets necessary.
