Perform the Music of Linda Ronstadt
to raise money for Parkinson's Disease research
Hosted by WFUV Public Radio's John Platt
Featuring Milton, Andrea from Cricket Tell The Weather, Ana Egge, Boo and Elena from The Demolition String Band, Pete Winne from Tumbling Bones, Bobtown, No Fuss and Feathers, Mark Newman
A masterful interpreter, Linda Ronstadt had a keen ear for simple songs that touched on universal themes. As a champion of great songwriters, she brought the works of Neill Young, Warren Zevon, and Lowell George to the broadest possible audience and ensconced them in our communal musical memory. After 30 albums and 11 Grammys, she retired from performing in 2009 and in 2013 announced that she had Parkinson's Disease and would no longer sing publicly. Presented by Common Ground Community Concerts and Spuyten Duyvil Music Ltd., Cover II Cover continues the 'folk process' inviting Ana Egge, Milton, Bobtown, No Fuss And Feathers, Mark Newman, Andrea Asprelli (Cricket Tell the Weather), Elena and Boo (Demolition String Band) and Pete Winne (Tumbling Bones) to cover Linda Ronstadt in a rolling review format. Partnering with the Parkinsongs, a family-run non-profit dedicated to using music and song to help fund Parkinson's Disease research, all proceeds from the show will benefit Parkinson's research.
