About this Event
A 3-week online series to help you and your family prepare for an informed and grounded birth experience. This holistic and evidence-based class will cover:
-The impact of COVID on pregnancy, birth and infant feeding
-The 3rd trimester and preparing your mind, body and spirit for labor
-Creating a birth plan and contingency plans
-The stages of labor
-Labor management and medical interventions
-Comfort measures in labor
-Postpartum and infant feeding resources
Registration is for the entire three-week series starting on December 3, 2020.
Childbirth Education Four Week Series registrants will meet on:
Thursday, December 3, 2020 - 5 PM to 7:00 PM
Thursday, December 10, 2020 - 5 PM to 7:00 PM
Thursday, December 17, 2020 - 5 PM to 7:00 PM
Childbirth Education Sessions are led by Stéphanie Etienne, CNM, MPH
Stephanie Etienne, CNM, MPH is a certified nurse midwife. She is the founder of Bridge Midwifery, a holistic midwifery practice dedicated to filling the gaps in gynecological and perinatal care, and co-Founder of The Bloom Collective. Bridge Midwifery offers at-home and virtual services including: preconception counseling, infertility counseling, pregnancy consultations and postpartum support.
Stephanie came to midwifery after many years in public health research, drug policy reform advocacy and social justice nonprofit program management. Her passion for reproductive justice was born from her work with the Community Birthing Project, a radical doula collective based in New York City.
Stephanie is involved with organizations dedicated to promoting midwifery in the African Diaspora including the National Association to Advance Black Birth (NAABB) and the Foundation for Advancement of Haitian Midwives (FAHM). Stephanie is also a dedicated mother, partner, sister, friend and member of a beautiful extended Haitian family.
