SEPTEMBER 9 & 10, 2019

Culture: the word on cheese will be in Chicago, IL on Monday & Tuesday, September 9 & 10, 2019 to get you connected with your cheese community, educated about all things cheese, and—most of all—excited about YOUR industry!


#CounterCultureCHI is a two-day educational seminar for anyone who works with cheese on a regular basis—either behind the counter (at independent shops, grocery stores, or specialty food stores), in distribution, food service, or related areas.


If you and your staff are eager and interested in cheese but not always able to travel to food shows, attend conferences, or take learning and tasting trips, these days are for YOU!

We're working on the final details (presenter lineup, schedule etc.) so buy your tickets today to reseve your spot!


NOTE: Each of the two days will be DIFFERENT (different sessions, presenters, cheeses) and each has a separate ticket. If you plan on attending BOTH days, please be sure to purchase the discounted 2-day ticket. If you cannot afford to pay for this event please email erin@culturecheesemag.com and we can let you know about scholarships opportunities.

Though you can get a lot out of only one day (and you are welcome to do so if it fits best with your schedule), we highly, highly encourge BOTH days. It's education, cheese, Culture, community - and whole lot more. Two days might not even be enough.

Sample Seminar Highlights:

  • 12+ Cheesemaker + Salume Presentations (6 each day): company stories, make details, guided tastings with Q&A time to really get to know the producers and products

  • Cheese Science: the birds and the bees of cheese (microbiology is cool!)

  • Industry Insights: regionally and nationally relevant guest speakers

  • Tasting Tables: cured meats, accompaniments, and cheese-friendly products

  • Happy Hour: time each day to cheers your cheese community

  • Goodie Bags: packed with cheese swag, educational materials, and samples

  • Mingle with the Maker - all cheese + meat presenters + local makers and producers
