Event description

Description

As a way of engaging young people interested in developing their skills as leaders and activists, The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is launching our first Arizona Muslim Capitol Hill Day. This year's theme is "#GetActivated."

The core mission of the Capitol Day is to provide American Muslims with a proactive agenda for positive activism, empower them to lead their communities from the margins to the mainstream, and foster a healthy Muslim identity that fits comfortably within a pluralistic American society. To achieve this, CAIR offers an intensive series of leadership building workshops that will cultivate civic engagement and a deeper understanding of the legislative process, as well as provide hands-on training in the areas of community organizing, media representations, and self-advocacy.

The purpose of this event is to start to civically engage our Muslim community organizers where CAIR can support the development of our community by training our community in practical skills they can take and pass on to the next generation of Muslims community organizers.
