Event description

Description

For most companies, salaries are the single biggest cost line in their P&L.

However, few companies have either a strategy in place to measure the return of those salaries they’re paying out; or processes in place to maximise the talent, expertise and knowledge of their workforce.

This isn’t a typical ‘people’ workshop. Here we look at People purely through the lens of how it can increase your profitability, your effectiveness and your efficiency.

In this session, we help you to look at the value of measuring the effectiveness of your people and your culture. We use real life examples, and practical models to help you start to think about your workforce in a different way.

We talk about employee engagement, and the importance of aligning everyone with your vision. We show you how to use delegation effectively to increase ‘stretch’ for everyone, and how that directly impacts on productivity.

We discuss how the behaviours of your workforce impact on your internal culture, your external reputation and your brand. And we show you how to develop, measure and monitor your ideal behaviours set.

What you’ll get from the session:

*A different way to view the ‘return’ on your investment in people.

*Insights into how better understanding the vision, and your direction of travel, can help to create a more engaged workforce.

*A different way of looking at delegation, pressure and productivity.

*An insight into how you can create a behaviours set – and start to change the way your behaviours impact on your internal culture and external reputation.

GHJ Speakers – The People Session is led by Elaine Warwicker.

Elaine had responsibility for Marketing and Strategy at Chelsea Building Society taking them through the merger with Yorkshire Building Society, then Retail Director at Ecotricity, the world’s first green energy supplier – quadrupling customer numbers during the 5 years she was there.

Most recently, Elaine set up a retail gas and electricity company for Bristol City Council – creating a £27m turnover business, with over 57,000 customers and 100 staff, in 18 months.

Elaine is experienced in building and developing teams of different shapes and sizes, and working with change and culture in different types of businesses – she helps our clients to use ‘corporate company’ thinking in way that’s proportionate to them.
