Event description

Description

Between 40% and 85% of “helping professionals” develop vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and/or high rates of traumatic symptoms, according to compassion fatigue expert Francoise Mathieu (2012). Social workers are not immune to this "cost of caring" and the consequences can be serious and career-altering including boundary violations, blurring of personal and professional values, impaired decision-making, and differential treatment of clients. Three (3) contact hours of CEU credit are available. This training is offered via lecture and small group discussion format.

++This program has been approved by the National Association of Social Workers-Missouri Chapter for 3.0 social work clock hours per approval certificate # OA0922-2317-018.
