Event description
Join a club where any fandom goes--create your own costume or help other cosplayers to perfect theirs! All you need to bring is imagination!

About this Event

Interested in cosplay? Not sure where to start?Adults and mature young adults are invited to join veteran cosplayer, Denny McDermott, for a monthly opportunity to collaborate with fellow cosplayers, use the library's resources (including sewing machines and a 3D printer, free!), and show off your work! Cosplay, or costume play, is a unique art that combines costuming, sewing, arts and crafts, and acting. Because cosplayers don't just get into costume--many get into character! Learning to become your favorite historical figure, cartoon, superhero, or other famous figure takes time, dedication, and talent. But there are a lot of inside tips and tricks that can make it a less expensive (and more fun!) hobby! Where do cosplayers display their work? Anywhere! From ren fairs and comicons to TikTok videos, the choices are only limited by your imagination! This club is member-driven, with activities and projects decided by the group. The club will be marching in the Branford Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 30th. What other projects will we participate in? That's up to you! Bring material to complete your own project or bring your creativity & help someone else finish theirs!Have questions? Email Miss Sarah today (smallory@blackstonelibrary.org)
