Event description

Description

Corrina Hewat is coming back to Tarset! Following a fantastically successful sold out singing day in 2017 Corrina is coming back on June 16th to sing with us again.

The day begins at 10am with a cuppa, Singing starts at 10.30am. There’s a break for lunch, one for afternoon cake, and the singing is wrapped up at 4pm.

Corrina is a world renowned musician, her work with The Unusual Suspects created some of the most exciting and innovative folk music of a generation. Her work with Shine inspired me- Kathryn- and I developed a love of harmony song directly from Corrina’s Influences.

A passionate Scots singer, Corrina will pick repertorie that challenges and inspires us. The day is suitable for any singer.

Tickets are £25 including tea, coffee, homemade biscuits and cakes. Please bring something for the shared lunch table.

Tarset Village Hall is in Northumberland National Park and not serviced by public transport.

DIRECTIONS: the postcode listed does take you to Lanehead and the hall is three building along to the left of the chapel but we have had some lost participants at previous events so...

from Newcastle/ Hexham: take the A69 exit marked Hexham and go along the A69, straight over the round about at Hexham, and take the right hand exit marked Kielder/ Bellingham. Go through Wall, turn left at the cross roads (marked signposts for Bellingham). Go over the bridge and over the round about. Carry on through Wark, when Entering Bellingham go over the bridge and turn left (signposted Kielder). At the next T-junction turn right (signposted Greenhaugh). The hall is three buildings up on the left hand side.

From Jedburgh: take the A68 south. Stay on the a68 for a long time! the road splits into A68 and A696. Turn right for the A68. Follow the road for 2.5 Miles then turn right into B6320 signposted for Kielder. In just under 4 miles turn right (marked Greenhaugh). At the next T junction turn left and the hall is about 1 mile away on the right hand side.

The locals are very friendly and used to people asking for directions. If you do think you are lost please do stop and ask.

If you are in any way concerned about directions or accuracy of directions/ postcode please email in advance of the day with your home postcode and I’ll assist you with how to find us. This is a rural village hall... set in the hamlet of Lanehead, but called Tarset Village Hall because it is in the parish of Tarset and Greystead. (Not at all confusing!)
