Before and after your entertaining and informative Tour of Coronado, we'll gather at the Beach Cafe inside the Coronado Beach Company shop for complimentary COFFEE, DONUTS and COLD DRINKS.
Your Tour of Coronado is hosted by an Ambassador Guide with a list of everything happening in town during your stay - along with exclusive inside info on the best places to SHOP, DINE, PLAY and STAY on beautiful Coronado Island.
The Guided Walking Tour is a wonderful Coronado Experience where you'll discover the Island's world famous attractions including close-up views of one of the country's largest wooden structures and historicaly significant, HOTEL DEL CORONADO. Here, you'll visit the grand CROWN ROOM, see some of the Del's newest additions and discover the movie locations where Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon filmed the award-winning movie, SOME LIKE IT HOT.
We'll also stroll by the WIZARD OF OZ House - where L. Frank Baum lived for a time and wrote the world famous Oz stories. We'll also tell you some of the amazing artworks L. Baum created for the HOTEL DEL CORONADO.
As walk along gorgeous Ocean Boulevard, you'll see awesome SEASIDE MANSIONS - many with historic stories of their own.
Get ready to discover the fascinating tale of 19-year-old KATE MORGAN - and how she passed away at the Hotel del Coronado in 1898. You won't want to miss these mysterious GHOST STORIES and how Kate may still HAUNT the HOTEL DEL CORONADO
We'll show you the exact coastal spot where the gambling ship, the MONTE CARLO crashed ashore during a fierce winter's storm back in 1933, and how the townsfolk rushed to the scene to collect the casino's GOLD COINS, which were scattered ALL across Coronado Beach.
The U. S. NAVY SEALS call Coronado home. The City is also the Birthplace of Naval Aviation. Find out how the early military used their ingenuity to launch the newly discovered invention, the airplane, from the deck of a ship back in the early 1900s.
