Event description

Description

John “Cornbread” Anderson makes a rare appearance at Jeanine Taylor Folk Art for the opening reception of his new collection of art. Cornbread, as he is affectionately known, will debut a new assortment of his signature stylized woodland creatures.

Cornbread’s artwork conveys humor, elegance, energy, and natural serenity. His work translates a deep seated respect for nature and all creatures great and small. Cornbread is known for using vibrant colors and depicting his animals with large round eyes.

Gallery owner, Jeanine Taylor shares “For the last 10 years I’ve been asking John Cornbread to come in for a show. It will be a delight to introduce him to Central Florida.”

John "Cornbread" Anderson was raised on a farm in Lumpkin County, Georgia. Like most farm kids, he spent a lot of time exploring the fields and woods around him - never giving a thought to painting what he was surrounded by. It wasn't until 1995 that he picked up a paintbrush.

This free event coincides with Sanford’s monthly Art Walk and Food Truck Fiesta.
