I'm certified in Spin, Yoga, and Pilates. I am currently a Yoga instructor at CorePower where I love to provide hot sweaty heart pumping classes that keep you energized and ready to face the world. I also teach at BEYOND studios where I provide a reformer/cardio work-out, that will keep you guessing when that yummy workout feeling (soreness) will peace out. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology, and minor in Health Science, from California State University of Long Beach.
Being a competitive swimmer for 15 plus years Karla's shoulders were always in pain, her good friend thought yoga would be the answer so 6 years ago in San Francisco, she began her yoga journey. She didn't like her first yoga class because it made her body feel weird and she had no understanding of the language. She decided to keep taking more classes because she needed to understand this weird feeling. Moving back to Chicago was a huge transition and she wanted to keep a little san francisco in her life so she decided to do a 200hr. hatha teacher training thru Pure Yoga. She loved the program thru and thru but felt that she still hadn't found her yoga teacher voice yet and decided to continue her personal practice. She began to practice at Corepower yoga and became hooked on Hot Power Fusion. Continuing her yoga education quarterly with retreats, workshops, and daily practicing. Karla wants to share the meaning behind that weird feeling that she felt in her first class, it was a state of peace between her mind and body with cool music in the background.
