Cost: $20
[Bring a laptop with either Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator installed]


Now that you've learned the fundamentals, get started building your first laser cutting project from scratch with The Build Shop staff!

This one hour small studio workshop will teach you the essentials of working in vector based software and design for laser cut projects.  With a maximum of 5 seats in the class the small class size will give you individualized attention with our staff focusing on a software package of your choice.  You can choose to work with either the free-to-download tool Inkscape (, or the industry standard Adobe Illustrator (available as a free trial here:  Please note, a laptop with the software above installed is neccessary for the class.  Training in this class is step 2 of 3 for completing your DIY certification with The Build Shop's laser cutters.

Once your in-class design is completed for the laser cutter we'll run the job in wood or acrylic so you can walk away with your completed creation!
