Event Details

We welcome all of our users to historic Providence, Rhode Island for TWO full days of education on our CORE ELMS and CompMS applications; extended due to your feedback and the success of last year's conference!  

At the conference, users will learn more about best practices and enhancements to the applications, as well as how they continue to help assessment and experiential learning departments.

In addition to the conference, CORE will hold a networking event on Thursday evening, October 19, where users can come together and enjoy one of Providence's incredible culinary experiences.

Thursday, October 19, 2017 - Assessment/CORE CompMS (7:30 am - 4:30 pm)

One-on-One Client Success Meetings
Presenters: Various Client Services Reps
Time: 9am - 3pm

Time to put a face to those voices you hear during training! Book a one-on-one with your Client Success Manager to get advice on the challenges specific to your program. Be sure to book your time in advance of the conference.


 

How Bryant & Stratton Manage Prior Learning Assessments (PLA) through CompMS
Presenters: Lynn Wright and Shannon Maines
Time: 10:15 - 11:15am

Members of Bryant & Stratton will present how they are utilizing CompMS to manage their Prior Learning Assessments (PLA) which allows them to send exams to students to evaluate their current education level. This session will provide insights on assessing student readiness at the end of a course and how to use the CompMS “grade-sync” feature.

Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) in the PharmD Experiential Curriculum – How to implement and map progress for IPPE and APPE rotations
Presented by: Dr. Erin Johanson
Time: 8 - 9am

Dr. Johanson of Roseman University College of Pharmacy will review how Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) have been implemented in her college’s general pharmacy practice learning outcomes for PharmD interns. The audience will be guided through the mapping exercise and step-by-step process utilized by the college, detailing the framework relating standards and learning goals for multi-disciplinary applications. Opportunities for longitudinal assessment of student performance will be discussed.


 

Building and Maintaining Effective Relationships with Clinical Partners and Students
Presenters: Hope Bauman and Tricia Berry
Time: 9 - 10am

This session will demonstrate how the CORE ELMS system is used to build effective working relationships with clinical sites, preceptors, and students. During this session you will learn how to use the CORE system to facilitate relationships within a Clinical Team as well as with University support staff such as Educational Advisors, Faculty, and Program Administrators.


 

Requirements Roundtable
Presented by: CORE Higher Education Group
10:15 - 11:15am

Roundtables were the crowd favorite in 2016, and this year is shaping up with two great new editions. Our first will focus on discussing best practices around setup for school and site specific requirements. This topic will include a breakdown of how other programs using forms to link to requirements and sending emails regarding compliance.


 

Field Encounters Roundtable
Presented by CORE Higher Education Group

During our second roundtable discussion, we will explore how other programs are utilizing field encounters. In particular, we will examine the process for building field encounters, best practices for communicating noncompliance, and much more.


 

Evaluation Scoring
Presented by: Nancy Alvarez, PharmD, BCPS, FAPhA
1:15 - 2:15pm

Dr. Alvarez, Assistant Dean at Chapman University School of Pharmacy, will review how her program is using our new evaluation functionality and the benefits to scaling of students. In addition, she will demonstrate some of our new reporting functionality to show percentage of scores received by student.


 

Panel Discussion: Accreditation
Presented by: Multiple Speakers

Remaining prepared for the Accreditation process is essential to your program’s success. With that in mind, we will hear from various speakers about how to prepare from an experiential office’s point of view and review beneficial reporting used during the process.
