GUMC Hot Topis is a time for food, fellowship and thought provoking converstaion on important community topics. Each month will provide the opportunity to read a different book and to bring to the table your thoughts on the book / topic. Reading the book is not required to be part of the dinner and discussion.
Our third gathering on December 11th will include a meal provided by Julie Carrigan. There will be a basket for free-will offering available. Please respond with any dietary restrictions. (We are already and always a nut-free church... Well... you know what we mean!)
This months discussion will focus on medical advance directives, which is an important topic for anyone over the age of 18. In the book, "Being Mortal" by surgeon Atul Gawande, we are able to think more deeply about how we feel about end of life issues and decisions. This Christmas, consider giving your family the gift of conversation regarding this very important family matter: what do you want to have happen when you are facing end of life?
