Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

The festive season and its build up can be very isolating and frustrating for those who are estranged from their family or a key family member.

Following a successful pilot, we are running more workshops around and in the build up to Christmas 2017. These will take place in four new locations.

The new locations are as follows:

Brighton, Bristol, Liverpool, and Manchester

These workshops are designed to help you to cope with the festive season and meet others who are in a similar situation - sharing thoughts and feelings about what family estrangement means for you at this time of the year. It will also help you to form mechanisms for supporting yourself, and to generate connections with others in your locality who can help you to cope with these often difficult months.

There will be small activities, small group work and an opportunity to share your experiences and coping strategies.

We are running separate groups for those who are estranged from their parents or siblings, and those who are estranged from a child.

When and Where?

Saturday 18th November 2017: 1.30pm - 4.00pm

Saturday 16th December 2017: 1.30pm-4.00pm

Saturday 13th January 2018: 1.30pm-4.00pm

(The time and dates for the group is the same across all five locations)

THE VENUE AND ADDRESS WILL BE SENT TO YOU VIA EVENTBRITE IN EARLY NOVEMBER

Who will run the workshop?

All the workshops will be run by a trained and registered counsellor, who will ensure the space is safe and non judgemental.

How much is it?

The cost is 50 pounds per person for the three sessions. We are not offering individual workshop sessions for this series and the cost can't be broken down.

This work is not funded by the Big Lottery Fund or any of our funders, and has been made possible thanks to a small donation to part subsidise the places for those attending. This sign up fee is the average cost of one session of private therapy, and is allocated towards the funding of the venue and facilitator for these events.

If you are on a low income, you can join the sessions for 15 pounds total, but we have limited low income tickets available and they are allocated on a first-come basis.
