Copperfield Concerts: Fernando Viani
Event Information
About this event
We are thrilled to present “Copperfield Concerts,” our showcase of world-class artists at our international school starting in October and curated by Fernando, our Musical Director. After four wonderful concerts with Moritz Winkelmann, Tatiana Alarmartine and Li'ang Zhao, Landscape Magazine and the Aviv Quartet, we will be warmly welcoming Olga Zado to our campus in March.
Fernando Viani’s music is characterized by virtuosity, compelling clarity with a superb degree of expressiveness. He has performed at Bolivar Hall (London), Symphonic Hall CCK (Buenos Aires), Red Hall (Montreal) and festivals like Sonus International (USA), Vielsaitig, (Füssen), Mendelssohn (Bonn).
His recording of the complete piano and organ works by Alberto Ginastera was received with great success. He has performed with Philharmonie Baden-Baden, Orquestra Sinfónica de Caxias do Sul, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional (Argentina), Orquesta Sinfónica de UNcuyo and the Filarmónica de Mendoza and the Entre Rios Symphony Orchestra (Argentina) and he has shared the stage with many artists, among them Ingeborg Danz, Laurent Breuninger, Peter Eötvös, Guillermo Anzorena, Sontraud Speidel and Alicia Borges.
Since 2012 he has held a teaching position for piano at the Bern Conservatory, regularly offers master classes in Europe, North and South America, and often serves as a juror at various piano competitions.
This concert aligns with our core values of internationalism and diversity, and during the series we will hear a range of genres, from classical to jazz, from rock to free improvisation. Fernando will collaborate with the artists to ensure the concerts are both appropriate and educational for our students. We are truly thrilled to be sharing such a unique experience with the whole Copperfield community.
