Event description

Description

Conflict is unpleasant, and we naturally tend to avoid it. But there is an energy in conflict and tension that can be harnessed to facilitate personal growth and community transformation. As a wise person once put it, "Relationships are like a bow: where the tension is the greatest, that's where the arrow flies the farthest." The spiritual practice of Cooperative Building invites us to lean into conflict and discover the power of synergism, where people come together to create an effect greater than any of them would have had separately.

On Friday, October 27, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM, Paul Schroeder will be leading a session on Cooperative Building. This interactive session will include exercises, simple tools, and instructive examples for how to engage this practice at home, at work, and in other contexts. Lunch will be provided. Schroeder is the author of the book Practice Makes PURPOSE: Six Spiritual Practices That Will Change Your Life and Transform Your Community.
