Event description
In this workshop, we will discuss how introspection and reflection play crucial roles in autobiographical writing.

About this Event

Whether you’re crafting a poem, novel, or memoir, every writer brings their individual stories and experiences to the page. In this workshop, we will discuss how introspection and reflection are essential and powerful techniques writers practice to create meaningful work that connects with readers. Through several, craft-oriented writing exercises, we will learn how to use our own experiences to benefit and inspire our writing. You do not have to be a non-fiction writer to take this class. Autobiographical details are present in all forms and genres. Whether you are an experienced storyteller or just curious about writing, everyone is welcome!

Jade Jones was born and raised in Southern New Jersey. A former Kimbilio Fiction Fellow, she is a graduate of Princeton University and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she was a Teaching-Writing Fellow. She is currently the Dean’s Fellow in Writing Arts at Rowan University, where she teaches first year writing and creative writing.
