Event description
A taste of Armenia comes to the Smithsonian as we welcome "Team Lavash"

About this Event

Join us for a taste of Armenian heritage with the authors of Lavash: the bread that launched 1,000 meals, plus salads, stews, and other recipes from Armenia. “Team Lavash” as they call themselves consists of chefs Kate Leahy, John Lee, and Ara Zada will share stories from their work illuminating Armenian culture as well as their journey they took together as authors to write their cookbook. The authors will be joined on stage by 2018 Smithsonian Folklife Festival Armenia Program curator, Halle Butvin, while they prepare lavash, a staple bread in Armenian culture. After the demonstration, the authors will be signing copies of their book, which will be available for purchase on site.

Cooking Up History is generously supported by Wegmans and Sur La Table.
