This is a hands on class where you will learn from Maricel how to make a simple and tasty empanada dough as well as several delicious fillings. We will start with two simple doughs, one for fried empenadas and the other for baked emepnadas. We will then move on to the fillings for Chicken Empanadas, Pulled Pork Empanadas, and a Filipino Empanada. We will finish the class with a dessert Empanada. ABOUT MARICEL
I have a passion for cooking and Asian cuisine. With over thirty years of professional food service experience I attribute my most important cooking lessons as the ones I received at a young age from my grandmother. She taught me the essence of food and what makes it so important in our lives. Growing up in the Philippines meant fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, trips to the market for meats and fish. The Philippines is the crossroads of asian cuisine and infused with flavors from all over the world and she taught me how to embrace those flavors. I love exploring new flavors and visiting old favorites and sharing those experiences with my fiends. Take a class with me and let's explore together.
