Description

The flavors of southwestern cuisine blend the best of the cultures that share a border. Learn how to make regional favorites that are easy to prepare any time of the year. Chef Christy Meyer will teach you how to make:

  • Poblano Braised Beef Tacos
  • Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp with Chile Butter
  • Cilantro Lime Rice
  • Refried Black Beans
  • Sopapillas

Skills covered: Knife skills, braising, flavor building, and working with and understanding southwestern ingredients.

We're BYOB, so feel free to bring along beer or wine to enhance your experience.




About the teacher: Christy Meyer is the owner and creator of Christy Marie's Cinnamon Rolls AKA Chicago’s Best Cinnamon Rolls according to Timeout Chicago. She moved to Chicago to become a chef after getting a degree from the Southeast Institute of Culinary Arts in St. Augustine, FL. She spends time perfecting her recipes, studying the art of food styling, sharing a bit of her home with family and friends and her love of cooking by teaching others how to cook. Her goal as an instructor is to teach the basics of cooking, introduce new cuisines and techniques, and to encourage my students to become the Chefs they never knew they could be.



Refund/cancellation policy: A full refund will be provided for cancellations requests received from customers up to one week (seven days) before the event. No refund or store credit will be provided for cancellation requests received less than a week before the event.
