Event description
Join Vietnamese food expert Andrea Nguyen to learn a classic Vietnamese technique-caramel sauce-that you'll want to use on everything.

About this Event

Vietnamese cuisine bridges East and West with its refreshing flavors, intriguing textures and vibrant colors. It charms, beguiles and sometimes mystifies, but many of its dishes are totally doable in your home kitchen with easily accessible ingredients. Join Andrea Nguyen, one of America’s foremost experts on Vietnamese food, to cook up recipes from her latest book, “Vietnamese Food Any Day.

First up, you’ll prepare a cornerstone Viet staple: caramel sauce (nuoc mau). Then, you’ll use the sauce to prepare a delectable southern Vietnamese favorite: Shrimp in Coconut Caramel Sauce (tom rim nuoc dua). During the 75-minute class, Andrea will discuss key ingredients and techniques for preparing Vietnamese food, including how to source those ingredients. Bring your appetite, curiosity and questions as you cook along with Andrea.
