Event description

Description

Support two great local programs at once by purchasing boxes of homemade cookies at Cookies for a Cause!

Our team of volunteer bakers are contributing their time and talents to bake dozens of scrumptious, home-made cookies for this event, featuring many favorite family recipes.

Purchase a single box, or check off all those names on your gift list by purchasing multiple boxes. We'll supply the box, which you fill with an assortment from the bountiful, cookie-filled platters at the event. Need a gift tag or ribbon? Stop off at our gift wrapping table for the final touches!

Enjoy a cold brew with friends while you ponder the choices - Event is free to attend, with 100% of your cookie purchase split between the organizations designated as beneficiaries:

  • Cville Timebank - Repair Cafe Program
The Cville TimeBank is a non-profit organization of more than 350 members who do service exchanges, using TIME as currency. It’s a great community-building organization, connecting members with skills to share with people who need those skills. Members perform a service for another member, then ‘bank’ the time to spend on other services they might need from other members. The timebank hosts ‘Repair Cafes’ regularly: community-wide events where volunteer fixers gather to fix things for people – for free! We held our 5th Repair Cafe at the Habitat Store in September. 50% of the proceeds from this event will help make our 2018 Repair Cafes possible. Read more at cvilletimebank.com
  • Urban Agriculture Collective of Charlottesville
The Urban Agriculture Collective of Charlottesville (UACC) is a non-profit organization utilizing urban farming as a method to connect community members across various racial, social and economic barriers. Managed by members of the communities in which the gardens are located (South 1st Street, Friendship Court, 6th Street) and cultivated by volunteers from all across the city of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, the farm has the capacity to produce up to 17,000 pounds of fresh produce which it provides to low-income residences free of charge during the weekly Market Day distribution. Volunteers earn a wooden token for each half hour of work in the garden which can be exchanged for a bag of produce at the Market Day or paid forward to donate a bag of produce for individuals who are not able to volunteer themselves. For more information, please visit the UACC website: urbanagcville.org.
